Who are Special Immigrants?

This petition is used to classify an alien as:

1. Amerasian: Any person who is 18 or older, an emancipated
minor, or a U.S. corporation may file this petition for an
alien who was born in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Kampuchea, or
Thailand after December 31, 1950, and before October 22,
1982, and was fathered by a U.S. citizen.

2. Widow or Widower

3. A Battered or Abused Spouse or Child of a U.S. Citizen
or Lawful Permanent Resident

4. Special Immigrant (Religious Worker; Panama Canal
Company Employee, Canal Zone Government Employee,
U.S. Government in the Canal Zone Employee; Physician;
International Organization Employee or Family Member,
Juvenile Court Dependent or Armed Forces Member).
